October 2016 / In Retrospect, The Lines From Then Until Now & New Attitudes, A Pellet Factory Production
This was the first time we had 2 shows opening at the same time. Emonic and Tamiko Rast created new works for the main gallery while Pellet created an installation in our project space gallery.
Emonic, a self taught artist, has been creating art since he was a child. As a youth he was heavily influenced by skateboarding, comic books, music, movies and graphic design. When working on projects he will often employ a mix of mediums ranging from traditional means to digital manipulation.
Tamiko Rast, is a fine artist, tattooer, graphic and web designer from San Jose. She and her brother, Miles, founded a website/design development company called Rasteroids over 15 years ago. Displayed in this show were street pole banners she has created for Japantown and the San Carlos Street district. Additional exhibited were a handful of gorgeous paintings in the art deco style of old travel posters, with each one addressing historical San Jose atrocities.
